Methodology:Semiquantitative detection of Borrelia burgdorferi total antibodies (IgG, IgM, and IgA) in serum by enzyme immunoassay (EIA).

Specimen Required:Collect: Serum Separator Tube (SST) – 0.5 ml serum.
Patient Preparation: No fasting is required.
Specimen Preparation: Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature Separate serum from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.
Storage/Transport Temperature: Refrigerated.
Unacceptable Conditions: Plasma. Hemolyzed or Lipemic serum.
Stability: Refrigerated (2-8ºC ) : 5 days;  Frozen (below -20ºC):  1 month
